weird SMS messages

Thousands of European cellphone users, from various countries (Austria, Poland, Germany, Romania) are receiving SMS text messages from several numbers in another country. The messages are English, and contain passages from the Bible!
The most used message center is +46731234200, but many others are used , like +966590109069 , +85516800000 , +9779851555081 , +919891940472 , +005058533969 (full list at the end of the post).
At first, some of the messages appeared encrypted somehow, but this was probably due to an encoding issue, as the messages appear to originate from Asia.Some of these weird text messages :

There is no official explanation for these messages, and people’s imagination has gone wild about them.
Some of them consider them very creepy, while others simply consider them to be sent by a religious organization with very deep pockets.

what kids do these days in school – today: sack tapping

Lately in the news there were at least two upsetting and worrisome “games” played by our kids while in school.

Firstly, there’s the “sack tapping“, which consists in hitting or slapping another boy in the “nuts”.
This has become a trend, as more reports begin to surface in the media.
Cases like the one from Crosby Ironton High School in Minnesota, where a boy lost a testicle due to this “game”, but doctors say these sort of problems are more and more frequent, and that we need to put a stop to this.

In other news, in Europe this time, we learn that several 14-year old girls got pregnant while “playing” another game at their school in Ostroda, Poland.
In this “game” (note the quotes, I have been using them a lot in this post) the girls lay on the floor, in a star-shaped formation, with the eyes closed, while boys have sex with them.
The winner is the boy that lasts longer. As creepy as this sounds, the teenagers actually played this “game” and as a result two of the teenagers have already gave birth.

Just two cases, on two different continents, of “games” (last one, I promise) that leave a permanent mark on our children.And not a good one, I’m afraid.
A couple of years back, there was the “choking game”, which got several teenagers killed. I’m afraid to think about what would they find out next.

Guatemala sinkhole

The new Guatemala sinkhole is very popular today in the news.
The Guatemala Government released a picture of the new sinkhole, which looks as creepy as it sounds.

This sinkhole, measuring 66 feet wide and about 100 deep swallowed a three-story building, a clothing factory, but nobody was injured.
Now geologists are planning to fill this hole with lodocreto (a combination of cement lime and water).

But the creepiest, in my opinion, is the 2007 Guatemala sinkhole.
(unfortunately 3 lives were lost then).
